Singlism Research Project

Project Objectives
This research aims to better understand the myths and stigma related to celibacy in adulthood (30-45 years old). This project seeks to:
1. Examine how stigma and myths surrounding established celibate adults impact their experiences.
2. Explore potential gender differences among established celibate adults.
3. Identify profiles of established celibate adults, their respective trajectories, and the psychosocial characteristics and well-being indicators associated with each profile (e.g., loneliness, sexual inactivity, social withdrawal, quality of interpersonal relationships, self-esteem, distress, well-being, sexual and overall satisfaction).
4. Document the factors and correlates that influence the well-being of established celibate adults.
